Prawie taka frajda jak na motorze :).
Na zdjęciu Ali, który oszczędził mi wszelkich instrukcji jak sterować
i pozwolił mi wpaść na wszystko metodą prób i błędów.
Almost as much fun as driving a motorcycle :).
On the photo Ali, who spared me any instructions on how to operate the boat
and allowed me to come up with everything by myself by the 'trial and error' method.
For months I tried to have my Indonesian colleagues to teach me how to drive the boat, which serves us as a main source of transportation in Batikap. Throughout this time they were disposing of me with indulgent smiles. I'm not only a woman but also a bule (white person), so they obviously assumed I am not suited for that. After ten months of working and living together in the jungle I finally found one, who decided to give me a chance. Thus I possessed a new skill that in the coming month I will certainly improve. I do not know how I will use it when I get home - probably not at all, but that is so not the point. Probably my future employer will not even know what a ces or klotok or prahu is but that's not important. All because not only did I have fun learning driving ces but at the same time to see the flash of disbelief in the eyes of my colleagues - priceless :). Well I may not know how to properly cook rice, but I can climb a tree, run the generator, change the oil in the engine, move two hundred liter drum of fuel and from now on also drive a boat :). And there is of course a photo to prove it.
